Music is in the heart’s and soul’s of 420's The Locksmith and Thaistick. Growing up in Lafayette, CO, as kids they listened to rap and dreamed of one day being rappers. As kids The Locksmith accidentally shot Thaistick in the face and luckily he survived. In 1997 fueled by a passion for rap Thaistick began to write lyrics. Later that year he would begin to take up freestyle rapping. In Sept. 1998 the Locksmith with a brand new car hit a traffic light at 75mph with no seatbelt. He should have died but… somehow he Lived! During recovery he reflected on his life and came up with the name 420CronicAddict Record$. In May 1999 he began writing lyrics, recording songs with Thaistick & learning about the music industry. In late 1999 The Locksmith started to build a studio in his house. Working 50 hours a week as a locksmith, scraping money together to build the studio & buy equipment was tough but in 2004 "The First Floor Studio" was complete. Everything was built by the Locksmith with the help of some friends and Thaistick. 420CronicAddict$ started performing at house party’s, then bars, then clubs and lastly large venues. Along the way 420Bro’s became their nickname on the streets so they changed their name to 420Bro‘s then to 42O. In 2006 420CronicAddict Record$ was finalized and 42O released their first album in-stores and online. They also released 420 gear: t-shirts, hats, beanies, headbands, sweatshirts, track suits, vests, polo shirts, mock necks and jeans. For girls: tops, thongs, shorts and shortie’s. Intense lyrics, incredible beats and the Locksmith & Thaistick’s extraordinary ability to perform live is the foundation for the 1st album 420 ”Fire Ta Ash” Released with 24 songs on April 20th 2006. “Fire Ta Ash” symbolizes the life to death, start to finish way of life we all know. The beginning of the album is about fun, good times & partying but as you progress through the album the mood changes reflecting the struggles of the game & the obstacles involved. By the end of the album the mood is more real, hardcore, or even harsh but it’s true. Death is the final song dedicated to those who have been lost to the game. Real life events/experiences, true story’s form our present/past and future visions of what we believe is to come. That’s the inspiration for the 2nd album 420 “Addictions” Released with 26 songs on April 20th 2008. The world is full of addictions: Liquor, Cigarettes, Drugs, Money, Sex, Coffee, Sugar, Music, Cars, I-Pods, the Internet etc… Basically the world has 420 Addictions if you break it all down we all have at least one. So really, ask your-self honestly, “What’s Your Addiction?” Now due to bad economy and lay offs, 42O have lost everything. House, cars, studio, jewelry, everything… Bankrupted but not defeated The Locksmith has moved to Vegas to work 66-72 hour work weeks but continues music as well. Bankrupted as well, Thaistick is in Colorado continuing music and travels to Vegas often for shows. 42O’s The Locksmith 420CEO & Thaistick along with artists working with 420, write, record, produce & perform all songs. All beats are original music compositions by 420 artists & artists working with 420, no samples were used. All lyrics are original compositions written by 420 artists and artists working with 420.
